Black ponds of horror
The stench of decay
Starvation burning
From the inside out
On a minefield of corpses
Unburied on scorched ground
Feet swollen and bleeding
Pain driving me insane
Am I already dead?
If this is not hell, what could be worse?
Slipping on bloodstained ground
As limbs refuse to go on
Falling into the depths
Of the nightmares below
I sink...
Staring into the eyes
Of mutilated corpses
Holding onto
Rotting remains
Flies cloud
the dead sky
I would puke
If I just could
I close my eyes.
I can feel the coldness
Reaching my waist.
No prayer escapes
my scarred lips
My only whish
is my death
Mud fills my lungs
As I float in a sea of madness

The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity.
